Good Afternoon Officials—
Attached please find the following documents for our upcoming meeting:
- Agenda 11-12-2024
- Minutes 9-10–2024
We are pleased that CTAS County Consultant Kelsey Schweitzer will join us to facilitate discussion on the topics of consolidated financial processes and capital improvement plans (CIP). Best practices for strengthening our financial structure and instituting long-term comprehensive capital planning have been recommended in state audits and CTAS training as efficient and strategic processes, and have been proposed by several county commissioners and the mayor for review and consideration.
The sample resolution from Tennessee County Services Association (TCSA) advocates for a share of the state real estate transfer fees. This potential revenue source if approved could indeed be beneficial for capital plans, and it’s encouraging to see this being brought forward by TCSA in the upcoming legislative session.
We will focus the bulk of our time on the financial topics led by Kelsey. Additional informational items on the agenda will be covered briefly if time permits.
We expect a productive meeting as we collaborate on improvements in local county government.
Please contact me with any questions or agenda updates.
Warmest Regards,
Sharon Hayes
