Attached is the Haywood County Audit Committee’s follow-up report from our May 6, 2026 meeting addressing the Comptroller’s audit findings for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2025. As required, this written report is being submitted to the Commission in advance of the June 30, 2026 deadline and will be filed with the Commission minutes for May.
We extend our appreciation to the Comptroller’s Office, County Officials, Staff, and the Audit Committee members for their commitment to corrective actions and to strengthening internal controls and financial processes for Haywood County.
The report is scheduled to be presented at the upcoming County Commission meeting on May 18, 2026.
